Tia is an executive leader, researcher, teacher, writer, speaker, doctor of public health, and a credentialed health insurance actuary. Most importantly, she is a strategic planner who gets work done.
Over the past four decades, Tia has successfully led multi-disciplinary teams that operate at the intersection of public policy, population health, and insurance and self-funded plans. She has served as a consultant with the biggest US actuarial consulting firm and an executive leader at Illinois Medicaid, in addition to starting and managing several small companies. As an academic, she co-founded the Claims Data Analysis lab and its corresponding course at New York University’s School of Global Public Health.
In 2019 she founded Teus Health, LLC, which merged into Highlight Health as of January 2024. While Tia is perhaps best known for “making data talk”, her deepest passions are delivering social justice and quality healthcare.
Tia holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a master’s in government administration (MGA) and BS in finance from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, she is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the Academy of Actuaries. Tia is the proud mother of two adult children. She resides and invests in Newark, New Jersey.
